Are Humans Part of Nature?

How is a skyscraper different than a bird-nest. Also us making other animals extinct, didn't dinosaurs do the same. Environmentalists say that we have to save the world, but where not are we? Aren't we just saving ourselves. There was also a time when the earth was worse off. Animals have always killed themselves off. What makes us different?
